Sand in My Boots Fest Itinerary
in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach
Are you heading to Sand in My Boots Festival on Alabama's Beaches this May? This three-day music fest includes awesome performances, fantastic food and drinks, and a whole lot of fun. We know you’ll spend your days and evenings jamming out, but we have a few suggestions if you don’t know what to do with your free time. And be sure to get the lowdown on Sand in my Boots Fest before you go.

Grab Your Festival Outfits
If you still need the perfect looks for the festival, you can find them at many local stores and boutiques along Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. You’ll be on the beach all weekend, so you’ll want to wear something comfortable and lightweight. Protect your eyes from the sun and snag a pair of sunglasses at Maho Shades or Shades. You’ll find amazing outfits and jewelry at Tiki Island Boutique and the cutest bathing suits and sandals at Seaside Shoes & Swim. Get a couple of cute local tees and hats at the Gulf Shores City Store or the Orange Beach Store. You can also get fun t-shirts, tank tops, and hats at The Hangout Restaurant’s gift shop!

Pre-Festival Dining
Those arriving before the festival begins on Friday will have the opportunity to explore the area and dine at some of the incredible restaurants in the area. Enjoy dinner with a view at one of our fabulous restaurants with outdoor dining. A waterfront meal with a coastal cocktail is ideal for starting a weekend of music and drinks on the beach.

Hit the Water
The weather in May is perfect for boating and watersports, so gather your festival gang and rent a pontoon boat for a fun day on the water. If you’re looking for a more relaxing time, opt for a trip on a tiki cruise or hammock cruise and let a licensed captain drive you around our beautiful area. You can bring your own snacks, drinks, and music on these cruises – the perfect way to gear up for an exciting weekend.

Fuel Up for the Weekend
Three days of music in the sand calls for a hearty meal. Before heading to the festival, enjoy breakfast and bloody marys at brunch spots like Brick and Spoon, Ruby Slipper, and Another Broken Egg. If you need something to grab and go, snag breakfast at BuzzCatz Coffee and Sweets or Planet Smoothie.

Late-Night
After a day under the sun and in the sand, recharge with a post-festival meal at a late-night dining spot. Still up for more fun? Head to Icehouse Taproom, Sandshaker, or Pour Smart Bar for more drinks. You can also keep the party going after hours at the iconic Flora-Bama, where you’ll enjoy live music, fantastic cocktails, and dancing.

Post-Festival Fun
The fun doesn’t stop when the festival is over. Hang around a little while longer and unwind on our beautiful beaches before you head home. Relax after an exciting weekend with a pleasant bike ride through Gulf State Park or a serene kayak or paddleboard excursion.
Savor some fresh Gulf seafood one last time at one of our fantastic local restaurants and enjoy a creamy bushwacker. Then grab a few souvenirs to remember your epic time on our shores!
