FootGolf at Glenlakes
in Gulf Shores & Orange Bech
There’s a new sport in town and it’s bound to have you kicking around a good time.
Actually, the game has been around in one form or another since the 1920s, but it’s only now becoming popular in the United States. FootGolf has seasoned golfers, as well as those who’ve never touched a club, lacing up their shoes for up to 18 holes of fun.

FootGolf is a cross between soccer and traditional golf. Rather than a tiny golf ball, opponents compete using a No. 5 regulation soccer ball with the goal of kicking it into 21-inch-diameter holes. In 2015, the National Golf Course Owners Association officially recognized The American FootGolf League, and the sport has been growing in popularity ever since.
Located in nearby Foley, the GlenLakes Golf Club offers 18 holes of FootGolf. If you’ve never played the sport, the Foley golf course invites you to try two free practice holes at the clubhouse.

The cost to play a round of FootGolf ranges from $8 to $12. Ball rentals are only $1 or you can bring your own when you play at GlenLakes Golf Club. While you can use a golf cart, footgolfers say it’s easier to walk the course as the distance between holes is shorter than regulation golf.
FootGolf can be a fun way to get everyone – including non-golfers and even kids – on the golf course. It’s quicker to play than 18 holes of traditional golf and it doesn’t require specialized or expensive equipment. Try FootGolf during your next visit to Alabama Beaches!
