Gulf State Park pavilion
From fall through spring, the sun sets over the Gulf of Mexico. During that time there really are no bad places for a romantic sunset stroll along our beaches. The Gulf State Park Pavilion offers expansive sunset views and a long fishing pier where you can walk over the Gulf as the sun slips beneath the sky.

Orange Beach Waterfront Park
If you’re in Orange Beach, Orange Beach Waterfront Park is the place to go for a long stroll with panoramic views. You’ll find parking and a pier jutting into Wolf Bay. The park also has a small stretch of beach that makes it easy to find a spot to get away where you can enjoy a private view (and maybe a sunset smooch).

Fort Morgan beaches
No matter the time of year, you’ll catch a stunning sunset view at the beaches around Fort Morgan. That’s because the peninsula has an ample stretch of beach that winds along the Gulf of Mexico to the north and Mobile Bay to the south, giving you a glimpse of the sinking sun no matter where it sets. Fort Morgan's beaches are also less crowded and less developed than the public beaches for a quiet and secluded feel.
Historic Fort Morgan closes at sunset, but you can park near the ferry and walk around to the beaches for your sunset stroll.

Gulf State Park’s Lake Shelby
For the stroll enthusiast, hiking meets dramatic views when you watch the sunset sink beneath the top of Lake Shelby in Gulf State Park. There are a few trails in the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trails system that winds near the lake, including Lake Crossing Trail, Gopher Tortoise Trail, and Eagle Loop Trail. You’ll be treated to spectacular views the whole way, culminating in a stunning sunset that reflects off the water and washes the world in glowing color.

Get A Front-Row Look
If you’re going for swoon-worthy, you need a sunset view that stuns. For a front-row view, rent a boat and take a sunset troll into the Gulf. With no land or buildings to impede your view, the sun will look bigger and closer as it sets just over the horizon (and you’ll get a better look at those amazing sunset colors).
To create some real ambiance, turn up the speakers on your vessel with some soothing sunset tunes! Since there’s no one around, you won’t need to worry about bothering other sunset-seekers.
