1. Sail the Gulf Waters
Ahoy, captain! There are so many wonderful ways to explore the Gulf Coast waters, but sailing is one of our favorites. The beautiful waters and incredible sea life make experiencing the area by sailboat a must. While on your excursion, you may take advantage of being out on the water to do a bit of fishing or diving. You can bring your own vessel or opt for a sailing charter.

2. Rock Out at The Wharf
Spend a night under the stars listening to some of the biggest names in music. August brings Kane Brown, Styx and Foreigner, Jordan Davis, and Train and REO Speedwagon to The Wharf Amphitheater. Don't forget to grab tickets to these concerts, so you can sing along to your favorite songs.

3. Reel ’Em In
The MBGFC Billfish Limited is Gulf Coast fishing at its finest. This tournament begins Friday with departure and ends Sunday evening with weigh-ins at The Orange Beach Marina. Whether you choose to participate or just spectate, it’s sure to be a fantastic time with impressive catches.

4. Get Lost in Nature
Nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers should head to Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, one of Alabama’s last remaining undisturbed habitats on the coast. The refuge is home to several threatened and endangered species, such as turtles, snakes, and birds. You may even spot an alligator or two while visiting. With four trails traversing the area, it’s a great spot for hiking and birding.

5. Tailgate at The Wharf
On August 24, The Wharf is hosting its Coastal Tailgate Cook-Off Challenge. Hungry attendees will have the chance to sample lots of delicious foods from various culinary teams and chefs in an exciting game-day atmosphere. Competitors are cooking for a chance to win a golden ticket to the World Food Championship in Dallas. In addition to great eats, the day will also include live music, games, and children's activities.

6. Get Crafty at the Coastal Arts Center
The Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach is the premiere spot for art on the Gulf Coast. This stunning destination boasts a beautiful gallery of mesmerizing art from regional artists. Not only can you browse art here, but you can also make your own. At The Hot Shop, participants can learn the ins and outs of glassblowing and create their very own pieces. Next door, you can try your hand at pottery at The Clay Studio. Whether you choose to try glass blowing or pottery, you’ll receive guided instructions from artists on how to craft your pieces.

7. Paddle It Out
Explore the calm waters of Wolf Bay through a unique trip with the Wind and Water Learning Center. Create a serene painting on the waters with a paddle and paint kayak excursion or float over the waves under the stars during a full moon paddle. If you want to learn the ropes of sailing, grab your gals and try the center’s three-day women’s sailing workshop. This class will teach you the basics of sailing, and by the end of the course, you’ll be able to successfully manage a vessel and navigate the water.

8. Make the Jump
If you’re feeling extra brave and adventurous during your beach trip, take a jump with Skydive the Gulf. Located in Elberta, this parachute center is the only one in the area that offers Gulf views and beach landings. The Famous Flora-Bama Beach Jump and Sunset Beach Skydive options land in front of the iconic beach bar and include a full media package, so you can relive your jump over and over.

9. Try to Escape
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are home to several escape rooms, each with its own special features. Escape rooms are the perfect family activity and will have you thinking quickly on your feet. You can choose from Breakout Games at The Wharf, Escape House Waterville, or XIT Escape Room in Gulf Shores. They’re a great way to get out of the warm sun for a little bit.

10. Boat Around
Pack a cooler and explore the waterways with a boat rental. Take the wheel and rent a pontoon or relax on a luxury boat as you're driven around by a licensed captain. It's the ideal way to keep cool and have fun!
