Landscape Design with Missy Patrick

Tuesdays, September 24- October 15, 2024 – 1 – 4 p.m

This four-week course will focus on the various ways to design from sketches and photographs. We will address the problems that hinder an idea from being successful and review classic design principles.

The class will view the (Un)Settled: The Landscape in American Art exhibition in the museum and discuss the design and intent of the artists included . The paintings in class will be done from the participants’ own photos. Any medium is welcome.

Supply List:
Sketch book, black felt tip markers, painting supplies (artist preference) including canvas or paper with drawing board. Printed copies of your own photos in color or black and white. A mat to fit your size paper format and frame for chosen canvas, canvas wrapped acceptable without frame.
