2025 Winter Showcase Series: Discovering Alabama's Sea Turtles

As part of the 2025 Winter Showcase Series presented by Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, please join us for this presentation from Chandra Wright, Director of Environmental & Educational Outreach for the Lodge and Learning Campus at Gulf State Park. 

Chandra will educate and entertain us with information about the sea turtles that nest and hatch on Alabama’s beaches. As a long-time volunteer with the Share the Beach program, Chandra knows first-hand the natural and human-related challenges our sea turtles face when they are on our beaches. 
We’ll learn about the different species of sea turtles that nest in Alabama and how the Share the Beach volunteers monitor and protect the turtles during the May-October nesting season. 
We’ll also find out more about how beach-front facilities in Gulf State Park support those efforts.
