Coastal Guided Bird Walks at Fort Morgan
Starting: 5:00 PM
To accompany the excitement of our annual coastal bird banding station, Executive Director Dr. Scot Duncan, Coastal Outreach Manager Cortney Weatherby, and Program Coordinator Andrew Lydeard will be leading the FREE guided walks at Fort Morgan for this year's spring migration!
We will meet at and start from the main entrance to the fort (pay booth) and travel as a group across the grounds in search of migratory birds. The fort grounds are among the best locations in Alabama for spring migration birding, as many birds reach land for the first time after their journey over the Gulf of Mexico and stop to rest here.
LOCATION DETAILS: No registration is needed. We will meet at the main fort entrance/pay booth. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS AN ENTRANCE FEE TO ACCESS THE FORT GROUNDS! If you havent paid the entrance fee for the day before, you must pay before you enter for the walk. Please try to pay your entry fee before the walk begins so you don't miss anything! These fees help support the maintenance of the site, which provides a critical bird habitat.
