Birds on the Boardwalk at Meaher State Park
Starting: 9:00 AM
We are excited to join forces with our partners and hosts of this event, Meaher State Park. All birders with any level of experience are welcome to take part in this program.
We will walk our boardwalk, which is part of the Alabama Birding Trails System and offers opportunities to see birds like American bittern, limpkins, gallinule, snipe, spoonbill, and early warbler migrants this time of year. The knowledgeable park staff will also highlight any other interesting wildlife we see along the way. We will also discuss a few different tools for bird identification.
You are encouraged to bring a pair of binoculars if you have them, but some will be available to borrow if needed.
While the event is free, there is a $3 park entry day use fee for those over 12.
