Q: How did you get started in the hospitality industry?
A: I started in the hospitality business at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear as a pastry connoisseur. An opportunity in the sales department became available, and I made the career shift.
Q: When did you start at Gulf Shores | Orange Beach Sports & Events? What drew you to the organization?
A: I started working with Gulf Shores | Orange Beach Sports & Events in March 2021. I worked closely with the tourism department in Mobile with my previous job, and when this opportunity presented itself, I couldn’t pass up a change of scenery like the Gulf Coast. I mean, who wouldn’t want to come to the beach every day and call it work?!
Q: What is the best part of your job? Why?
A: The very best part of my job is the welcoming environment I get to work in every day. People down here aren’t just people; they are family.
Q: Why should sports and event planners work with CVBs/sports tourism organizations?
A: CVBs and sports tourism organizations are a great source when you bring an event to the area. We can point you in the right direction for local resources, grant opportunities, welcome bags for participants and potential on-site event assistance.
Q: What sets Gulf Shores and Orange Beach apart as a great sports/events destination?
A: Orange Beach and Gulf Shores have not only some of the most beautiful beaches on the coast, but our sports facilities are top-notch. Both cities are also committed to upgrading and improving!
